The Common Area Coordinator (CAC) is responsible for effectively coordinating all Local Leasing Administration and property level Marketing activity for the shopping center with the intent to maximize return on investment.


Local Leasing

  • Coordinate Temporary Tenant set up and move-in/move-outs
  • Work with Lease Administration to properly account for tenant billings, opening dates, closing dates, and terminations.
  • Enter all license agreements for Temporary leasing and sponsorship's, track approvals, obtain tenant signatures, track tenant openings and ensure proper insurance is collected.
  • Serve as point of contact for basic sponsorship programs generated by Sponsorship group (for example: sampling, national tours, signage or banner opportunities, etc.). Coordinate event set up with client and mall operations staff.
  • Visual merchandising management, as directed.
  • Maintain Files for all Temporary Tenants keeping a contact record for phone and address.
  • Work closely with accounting to reconcile and collect rents from Temporary Tenants.


  • The CAC owns the responsibility for supporting and activating all marketing programs that drive sales/traffic and NOI growth for the center.
  • Plays the key lead role to activate the local implementation of national marketing directives and any center specific marketing programs including but not limited to in center events and promotions.
  • Supports digital and social media platforms for the center. Position is responsible for updating center digital content assuring accuracy and value to the customer as well as maintaining email marketing database.
  • Ensures center retailer listing materials and marketing promotional materials are accurate, updated and inventory levels are maintained.
  • Works with the GM to create effective marketing initiatives and tools that support our retailer partners achieve their sales goals.

Policies and Procedures

  • MAP updating and entries; MAP forecasting data entry.
  • Manage sponsorship and business development inventory.
  • Maintain Keys for all RMU and vacant space inventory.
  • In-direct Reporting to Leasing & Marketing

Financial Management

  • Ensures and maintains accurate budgets and monthly forecasts for assigned properties.

Experience and Skills:

Required Skills

  • Minimum 2-3 Years of Experience, preferably in Marketing, Event Planning, Project Coordination, Retail or Real Estate
  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, highly dynamic working environment
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
