The Company is seeking a full-time transactional real estate paralegal.  The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support for real estate transactions including assisting in all aspects of acquisitions and dispositions, financings, reviewing title and survey, preparing closing documents, drafting and analyzing real estate documents including lease, lease amendments, tenant estoppels and SNDAs, managing and responding to tenant default letters and seeking lender consents.  This role will also include the drafting of resolutions and maintenance of the Company’s legal files and various related tasks.  The position will report to an attorney in the legal department and involves close collaboration and teamwork with all members of the legal team, outside counsel as well as with colleagues in other departments across the Company.

The candidate should have exceptional work ethic and be able to solve practical problems, deal with changing variables and appropriately escalate, delegate or seek additional instruction as needed with respect to assigned tasks.  The candidate must be able to work in an open, collaborative environment and deal with frequent requests and competing priorities.  The ideal candidate will be professional, engaged and flexible, and able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet rigorous deadlines. 

Experience and Skills:


  • 4-8 years’ experience supporting commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions and financings; experience with retail real estate a plus.
  • A minimum of 3 years of leasing experience required.
  • Additional experience with general corporate work such as entity formation, annual filings, dissolutions, keeping minutes and drafting resolutions is preferred.
  • Candidate must be comfortable with handling multiple transactions simultaneously.
  • Candidate must possess sound analytical and critical thinking abilities upon which advanced skills could be developed with additional time and experience;
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills, including performing duties accurately and in a timely manner;
  • Ability to work independently and identify potentially more effective methods of work operation;
  • Very strong communication skills (verbal and written), ability to take direction and work effectively with minimal supervision;
  • Advanced skills with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint and the ability to quickly master a variety of software platforms and electronic filing systems;
  • Bachelor’s degree and paralegal certification or equivalent combination of experience and education is required.
